Why is Indian education not delivering?

Indian education is failing miserably at harnessing the power of its intellectual youth and they shall continue to move to better universities in West.

I stumbled upon Alok Kejriwal’s thought provoking article on Indian education –

Testimonials

When I started with my MS application process, I was clear that I required a mentor, who would guide me through the process, and not someone who would give me a free ride to an average university and ask me to feel grateful for it. Nistha proved to be the best mentor I could hope for. I always had to be at the top of my game while working with her. Right from university selection, to drafting my statement of purpose and letter of recommendations, her valuable feedback helped me excel. Her fee… Read more

I dropped a year due to health issues and used that time to prepare for Masters in US. But this year gap was increasing and joining Scholar Strategy was a wake-up call. I was totally confused regarding the course to pursue and Nistha made it clear to me. She showed me the path to identify my passions. And from there on, the sail was smooth. The timely facebook posts, quora answers, her book, the presentations and the feedback on my documents are very valuable for me.

Nistha is very critical with the SOP and the LORs. She pushes students to get the best out of them. This might sometimes suggest hectic and students might feel that whatever they’ve already written would be enough. But, trust me, Nistha knows what is correct. She has been in this industry for a quite a while now. Nistha pays a lot of importance to the fact that the overall profile including resume, SOPs and LORs are an important aspect to the college application. Merely having a good GRE/TOEFL w… Read more

Thank you for the honest feedback on the SOP. The preparation for the SOPs helped me in the interviews and I would recommend Nistha for a friend looking for higher studies especially in US

Data analysis is more important than just having the statistics. Consultancies have the data – the statistics about what range of scores maps on to admits in which school. But more often than not, the mapping gets highly nonlinear !.. ;( You could never quite guess where a student might end up by just looking at his or her scores because the student might have a great research profile or publications too (which count a lot, in addition to having good marks). Now this profile requires a smart an… Read more

Scholar Strategy is for people who are looking for a mentor and not a typical counselor. Working with Nistha has been great. She helps you come up with a unique story of your own for the SOP and this I believe is one thing that makes your application stand out. She was available on mails throughout the process, giving honest and practical suggestions. A special mention to our closed Facebook group called ‘Scholar Strategy gang’, this group’s peer-help has been amazing. Thank you, Nistha!… Read more

I initially decided that I would go ahead with my applications without a counselor as it proved to be quite futile when my elder sister used it. But after perusing through Nistha’s answers on Quora and the articles on her blog, I decided to go ahead with Scholar Strategy without a second thought! I was really impressed with her structured procedure throughout, which also comes from the fact that she’s been through this herself (a rarity among counselors!) She was very pragmatic with her suggest… Read more

It was awesome to work with Nistha, on my applications. I received regular responses to improve on my SOP and LOR’s. Great help in shortlisting universities. Thank you Nistha 🙂

My experience with Scholar Strategy was life changing. Nistha made me realize my true potential and I was able to get into some of the top Universities in the world. Having worked with a different counseling agency before joining Scholar Strategy made me realize how different Nistha’s approach is and what I liked the most is the timely manner in which everything is taken care of, starting from school selection to SOP and LORs. I feel the one on one conversation I had with Nistha motivated me a… Read more

After a disappointing application cycle for Fall 20 where I received rejects from all of my preferred universities, I reached out to Nistha and team for help for my Fall 21 applications. From the get go, the process is so streamlined and smooth. I received emails about next steps and how to go about everything. Nistha is very focused and has the ability to find notice and point out even the most minute details that make a huge difference in the quality of me essays and applications. The di… Read more
